Update the UI.

You should Clean up the User Interface making it look more like the times.

Add an automatic 'vinyl to MP3' mode

At present, the user has to record each track of a record individually. It would be helpful if the progam recognised the pause between tracks and automatically changed from one file to another.
Response from the site administrator
Pianosoft, 01.10.2010
There is another product Direct MP3 Recorder on Pianosoft site that has such possibility. Direct MP3 Recorder Studio version of this product allows audio editing too.

please make the recording of the sound card be through the computer rather than having to have a microphone switched on

Currently, the sounds recording of the soundcard is through the microphone meaning that 1. you have to have a mic installed and switched on and 2. the sound quality is not good (as the sound is coming out of the computer and being recorded by the...

Add 'HIss Removal' for audio cassette conversions.

I am converting all my all cassette to cd but can't seem to do a good job at removing the hiss without ruining the audio.

How about being able to make your own ringtones with it? That would be nice!

This is a very nice tool, but I would like to be able to make my own ringtones, because I have kind of an eclectic taste, however I think that there is a special format for ringtones, it that format was added to this program that would be sweet....

Use a FFT to show the frequencies.

An FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) allows you to show the frequencies of the audio for each section, you can add that as an additional display of the waveform. This is similar to a graphic equalizer, and offers a more readable display for a person to...

Add something unique that the free apps don't have.

There are many free apps for sound editing, and so why would anyone pay for something they can get for free, so something needs to be added that the free apps don't have before most people will buy this.

Automatically Create various length clips.

Make it so that you can select a starting point and then a length of the clip you wish to have so it automatically selects that amount of recording. 5 seconds, 10, 15, 20, etc.

When recording you should have the option to record to a file (rather than memory) so if you are recording a long program it doesn't take too much memory.

Add record to file button, which asks you for filename and then saves to the file automatically.

To have the ability to change pitch or speed of the recorded medium independetly or together

To be able to change pitch you could mix and tune to your instrument rather than spending time tuning the instrument to the song. Being able to mix music by changing the pitch to match other songs and getting the tempo right as well without...

Not sure on the format of MP3, but I have used video editing tools that don't need to re-encode when deleting sections.

In MPEG video, you have keyframes and if you are just removing a section of video (eg. an advert from a recording) then it can keep the data up to the removal point, and generate a new keyframe after the edit and just re-encode the data until the...

Place the L/R meters ABOVE each other (not BESIDE).

It would be MUCH easier to monitor levels if the meters were 'on top of' each other (AND lebelled L and R).

Add a scheduled timer so that you can use it to record a radio stream for a particular show. Eg, You could set 9-12 M-F Rush Limbaugh which would record as [Date] Rush Limbaugh.mp3

It would be even better if you could specify a web url to use at that particular time. So using "players.eonstreams.com/FastAim/Player/Player.php?PlayerID=841&ShowLoader=false" would specify the source stream. Then it would record the program, and...

Add an EQ so that one might record thrue it and even better cut out unwanted tones.

If you have vinyl as the source, you might want to cut out the scratches or adjust the overall sound. If you listen to soccer from South Africa, you absolutely want to cut out the woowuselas.
